Power of Attorney
It is not always easy to think about the future, but planning ahead can give you and your loved ones peace of mind.
Power of
Attorney Solicitors
At Trent Law (Solicitors), our friendly and experienced solicitors guide you through making a Lasting Power of Attorney (LPA), ensuring your wishes are respected if you are ever unable to make decisions for yourself.
With offices in Nottingham, Derby, Sheffield, and Leicester, we support individuals and families across the East Midlands with professional and compassionate advice.

What Is a Lasting Power of Attorney?
A Power of Attorney is a legal document giving someone you trust the authority to make decisions on your behalf. There are two main types:

Lasting Power of Attorney for Property & Financial Affairs
This allows your attorney to manage your finances — including your bank accounts, property, investments, and paying bills — if you lose capacity or if you choose to give them authority sooner.

Lasting Power of Attorney for Health & Welfare
This covers decisions about your health, care, and living arrangements. It can only be used if you lose mental capacity.

How We Can Help
At Trent Law (Solicitors), we:
-
Provide clear, tailored advice to ensure your LPA reflects your wishes.
-
Draft the Power of Attorney documents.
-
Register the LPA with the Office of the Public Guardian on your behalf.
-
Offer fixed, transparent fees with no hidden costs.
Our Fees:
-
£360 (inc. VAT) for a single LPA (Property & Financial or Health & Welfare).
-
You will also need to pay the Office of the Public Guardian registration fee (currently £82 per document).
To remain impartial, we prepare and register the document but ask you to arrange certification of identity separately.
